Mark is the Director Of Tax here at Johnston Associates. He brings over 28 years specialist tax experience to our team, having started his career with IRD and since then having worked as a tax specialist in Big Four and regional firms.
His experience and expertise is vast, covering numerous areas including large and multinational clients, through to closely-held family businesses of all shapes and sizes, migrants and new residents, primary industries, and managing IRD disputes. He is passionate about ensuring he is able to distil complex tax law concepts down into understandable, commercial and practical advice which helps enable clients make the rights decisions for their situation.
Mark’s expertise and experience have led to him presenting tax updates and presentations on various tax-related topics around New Zealand.
Outside of work Mark can often be found playing hockey, coaching football, or in his garden tending to his fruit trees.
